Welcome to Thunder Pups Farm

Thunder Pups Farm is a small, home-based Cavalier King Charles Spaniel preservation breeding program in Simpsonville, South Carolina. Established in 2004, our program is dedicated to producing beautiful Cavaliers with an emphasis on health, temperament, breed standard and genetic diversity.

Recognized by the AKC Bred with H.E.A.R.T. program, we breed selectively and intentionally. Our Cavaliers live in our home as members of our family, and our puppies are raised from birth surrounded by the people, dogs, sights and sounds of everyday family life.

The health of future generations is at the heart of every breeding decision we make.

Our breeding Cavaliers receive extensive breed-appropriate health and genetic testing, including evaluation of their hearts, eyes, hips and patellas. We believe prospective families deserve transparency, so health information and direct links to OFA testing results are provided on our dogs' individual profiles. Health information for the carefully selected outside sires we use is provided as well.

We don't simply breed for the puppy in front of us. Our goal is to make thoughtful decisions that contribute to the health and strength of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel for generations to come.

Thunder Pups is intentionally a very low-volume program. Keeping our program small allows our Cavaliers to remain family dogs first and gives us the time to provide each litter with the individual attention, socialization and care we believe puppies deserve.

And our relationship with a Thunder Pup doesn't end when that puppy leaves our home.

We stay connected with our families and follow the health and development of the Cavaliers we produce throughout their lives. Those updates are precious to us personally—and they also provide valuable information that helps guide future breeding decisions.

Every Thunder Pup is permanently identified with an AKC Reunite microchip, with Thunder Pups Farm remaining a secondary contact for life. We want every dog we bring into the world to have a safe place to return to should circumstances ever change.

Our breeding program grew from more than 40 years of fostering, rescuing and caring for dogs in need. After decades of helping dogs whose lives didn't begin as they should have, we find tremendous joy in giving puppies the very best beginning we possibly can.

We continue to support rescue while working to preserve the Cavalier breed we love.
