Welcome to our Site! Thunder Pups Farm was established in 2004. Recognized by the AKC Bred with H.E.A.R.T. program, we are preservationist breeders of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels in Simpsonville, South Carolina. Our purpose is to contribute healthy and strong Cavaliers for Generations.

After over 40 years of fostering and caring for abused and neglected dogs, we are finding so much joy starting puppies out right. We are not a kennel or puppy mill. We selectively breed to preserve and give back to the breed. We breed females from approximately age 2 to 4. We intentionally retire our Mommas early to reduce the risk of breast and other cancers and give them a wonderful life. Our dogs are thoroughly genetic, and health checked for eyes; heart; hips and patella. Our priorities are Health, Temperament and Breed Standard appearance.

Our dogs are family, they live in our home and hearts and not in an outdoor kennel. Our dogs and puppies are well socialized to living in your home. We feed only Royal Canin and supplement with multivitamins, probiotics, blueberries, and yogurt for training. Only the best for our Cavaliers.

Meet the Pack:

Our first Dam is Isabella Esther of Thunder Pups Farm. She has well researched parentage, we met her parents and grandparents, and all are still in excellent health! Isabella has had her genetic and health testing (CHIC) and a four generation AKC Certified Pedigree. Bella has Grand Championship blood lines with multiple champions! She is a beautiful Black and Tan Cavalier. After fostering rescue dogs for many decades, it is a great joy to create well socialized trusting puppies. Isabella and Kip are a mated pair and she gave birth to their first litter in June 2024. Beautiful Rubies and Black & Tan Puppies! Her second litter was born in January 2025 two gorgeous ruby twins. We are planning her last two litters and then Isabella will retire at a young age. See our Puppy Pages for pictures and details for future litters.

We welcomed Christopher Robin Mountbatten, 'Kip' to the family in January 2023. Kip has a wonderful pedigree from De la Gorge/Woodville and Rabymar/Kingston lines. These are some of the finest bloodlines in the breed! We met Kip's parents and grandmother. His family history is strong and healthy.

Kip has had all his genetic and health testing. He is available for stud services; including natural breeding, AI Side by Side at our Reproductive Specialists and fresh semen for Artificial Insemination. See his Stud Services page for more details.

Kip seems to have passed down the 'hugging' gene to his offspring. They literally put paws around our necks and lean in to snuggle and give hugs. He is precious!

We have a surprise coming soon!!! We are busting to share the news, but it may take a few more weeks for our package to 'arrive'.

In July 2024 we welcomed Katie Scarlett O'Hara of Thunder Pups Farm! Katie is a beautiful Tri-Colored Cavalier with excellent lineage and Pedigree. We have obtained all her Health Certifications to ensure she is well suited for our breeding program. Katie has completed her preliminary basic cardiology and Patella clearances. She has also passed both her final CAER Eye and PennHIP clearances. We will continue her eye and heart clearances annually, as we do with all our breeding dogs.

She is a little spitfire with endless energy. She came home as Bella was weening of her first litter and Isabella is so sweet with Katie. Now Katie is baby sitting little Willow. Cavaliers have the biggest hearts tucked away in those tiny fur packages. All LOVE!!! When you have one, you'll know.

Born on December 21, 2024, our little Christmas Present came home in February 2025. We have great plans for her! Her name is Elora Danan's 'Willow' of Thunder Pups Farm. She is a special little lady with an excellent pedigree. We look forward to producing the most beautiful Ruby Cavaliers in years to come. It's also exciting that Willow has genetic traits that will allow her to produce all four colors of Cavaliers with a Parti Colored partner. As we find the right blenheim stud we will be able to pair for ruby solids and parti colored puppies too!

Willow has passed her preliminary health testing: basic heart assuscitation, vet physical exams for patella and hips. She has had her first annual CAER eye health certification. We will complete her final PennHIP exams next. Willow will not be ready to breed until late Winter 2026.

More surprises this Summer! We are hopeful someone has buns in the oven for us. Pray for healthy beautiful momma's and babies.

Retired Thunder Pups Where are they now?

In October 2023 White Manitou Khloe arrived from Hungary. We call her Bailey. She came from European Championship lines. In order to import a breeding dog from Europe, she had to pass Cavalier health clearances. Bailey came to us with full documentation for eyes, patellas, hips and heart.We repeated all her health testing. Her hips were on the high side of standard deviation for Cavaliers. For her own best interest, we have retired Bailey.

Our intent is to better the breed. Small risks to her health and longevity are not acceptable for our program.

When we retire our girls they go to a family that has one of their puppies in nearby homes where we can continue to visit. We want our ladies to enjoy retirement at an early age. Here are Bailey and her daughter Holly. Happy together, furever.
